I HEAR YOU FACE CAST..
Yep, masking tape to help measure 🙂 The tape is now gone. The lines are balanced but definitely individual on each side 🙂 hoping to get this back half done this week. But I am permanently fatigues and this is making time management difficult.
That was much faster than the back 🙂 but the other side is going to be hard to match. Might need some paper and pins 🙂
Smoothing under the rings, very ankylosaur in feeling.
Line sketch then filling and removing small lumps of clay.
Just need to figure out a way to make the scales look tidier. Okay, managed to use a cuticle stick, then silicone brush and then my hands. It’s not perfect so I’ll want to to a finishing tidy later.
But I have an ice pack on the nape of my neck as it is so hot. Supposedly only 26 degrees but it feels more like 30.
Sooooo, yep taking the face off so I can mold the back and sides in ultracal and then cast in latex. Then I can slip the cast over my better headcast and sculpt the face, then mold that and cast that in silicone.
Decided to start the back now, leaving the front and fin until tonight as it really is very soft. Even texturing is a bit tricky. Might have to use the smallest silicone brush.
Hmmm maybe even a skewer.
Maleficent’s gown is just not cooperating (chiffon velvet being an ass???????) so it is hanging on the form until it does.
But I was thinking of a livestream tomorrow of sculpting. I may be able to charge and hook up my camera to my big computer for a reasonable option. Unless I can do so google thing with my phone.
So the big one on the form is Vastra.
(Vastra and Alaya/Rastac)
Videos of demonstrating the real dea
And my own progress on Vastra, Maleficent, and others to help me feel confident in making a full face silicon prosthetic. I’ll need a thicker undeadened layer on the pieces for a bit more stability. And some green pigment. With powder it seems to hold paint better so hopefully… Same routine for mold release for both though.
So, sleep so I can hopefully use this:
Livestreaming of the process. Will focus on cleaning and tidying. And the complete tools I use 🙂
