That hairloss I mentioned…

image

So you can see I have a lot of hair but it is mostly very short. Also pretty clear it is all new growth not cut to this length! I am totally rocking the brushed forward look of the early 19thC- a la Titus. Not sure I want to cut the remaining ponytail though… My hair is also curly now which just means it stick out everywhere when short. I look more like a fever victim of the time than an ultra hip woman of fashion c1800.
Might have to clip the few long hairs at the front though.

Hmmmmm….

I’ve started transferring my Blood Dragon patterns to card and getting into a bit of a sticky wicket.

I knew I had some pronounced curves but I think there are too many to really be able to use my card templates as a pattern for leather. I’ll have to form the leather first and then cut it. Which is doable but less likely to produce very crisp results. So it may be fibreglassed after all. I know I got really in to the groove once I got my Shae armour nicely sorted and on a stable substrate (most of the issues I had from the start were to do with air moisture levels and how it buckled my paper and card). Foam would be great if I could get the same rigid:density proportions in half thickness but I can’t here.So I’m a little lost.

Leather is definitely the best for mimicking how the armour behaves, fibreglass better for how it is supposed to behave. Foam the best of both worlds but is too thick (the overlap of the thigh and bicep pieces are the main issue- but also where there are necessary layers that are ignored in the model).

And I wanted to test with the vinyl but I need supplies. Sigh. Today is not a total wite off but I have been extremely tired anyway. Some success with Shae though, so I should be happy about that.

Cunning plan is working!

So I wanted a nice crisp clean shape to my Shae Vizla chest piece to match the new thigh greave pieces. And yes, it has worked (now that Madame Foamy is .. well.. foamy…) but I didn’t like how I assembled the pieces before glassing. I love what I have managed now for the chest 🙂 It should be easy to get an initial soak of resin and then lay the tissue and cloth over the top.
It’s strong enough that I can leave the pieces until I can actually work on them and light enough that when I do work on them I can 😉

But since a publicity still on my Dash turned up from Madame Du Barry with all the gorgeous 30s startlet sheer ruffles and huge hat and arched brow… well I have all the Golden Age feelz and would looove to get working on a ridiculous 30s Rococco gown. Who wants to join me? Panniers and frills and hats and Looks?

But for right now I have to start organising and delegating tasks up ahead.

Nervous!

Just booked to see my specialist. I may be eligible for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rituximab
Yeah, kinda scary reading but so too is the page on RA anyway 😉 But I’ll know in probably three weeks? I see my specialist the first week of August and it usually only takes a week after that to know.

Really hard decision but I can at least talk to my specialist about my concerns. Basically I have had negative responses to two TNF inhibitors as it is. Enbrel set up a scary allergy and Remicade just made me seriously sick with every infection everywhere. And my hair hasn’t really recovered from falling out either. It if full but falls out by the root once it gets to about 15cm- about a years growth for me.

But it’s also exciting because I really have had two especially bad years. So… difficult decision to make. If I meet the criteria for activity- which I might given the continued activity in my elbows which are significant and large joints.
