Big Ass Silver Frock

sm_DSC_2229
Soooo.. yeah I may have enough for a decent train after all. And I can order articles via ILL if I can remember how to log in to my Library site… I want to compare the Louisa and Sophia gowns. I have a preference for the fan shaped Louisa skirt but the fabric is much closer to Sophia’s gown 🙂 Soo.. I may just get myself ordering a lot of Costume articles….

Annoyed I couldn’t afford the whole roll at the time and the rest was gone by the time I got back. Yep. Another Geoff’s find 🙂

Big Ass Silver Gown

Popped my email to Kendra 🙂 But never fear, there are lots of silver frocks and frankly I’d *love* to see all the bling 🙂 I just dug out my 6m length so I think I’ll have enough for the skirt and train (just got to double check) sadly the prettier gown (Sophia Magdelena) has a train at least 5m long..

So ALL THE SILVER GOWNS!!! I’m doing 1, but it’ll look more like 3 as my silver twill is warm and not patterned at all. I’m sure the Kremlin Armoury had more….

On the court bandwagon…

http://pinterest.com/source/emuseumplus.lsh.se/

So yes. Lots of Big Ass silver gowns, so no need to worry if anyone wants to do the same 🙂
So sorry, I’d offer links to the website, but my search foo has failed for the evening and the links are all dead. so the pinterest link will have to do. Seriously droolworthy.
Also, Rocket dress. The Norma Shearer silver gown in the biopic of Marie Antoinette. If my silver fabric was super light and fluffy I’d be all over that.

)(&%$$^&$#!!!!! SO WORTH IT!!!!!!

I definitely need to make that back tab bigger. Probably I’ll just unpick the edges and mount the whole thing on to more shot green fabric if I can find it.

Hannibal/Elissa gown go! I don’t care if no one recognises the gown I’m totally wearing this to armageddon. I need to show photos of the wig to. It’s fantastically frizzy and early 90s style 🙂 I did use perm rods to curl a wig that was not heat resistant. So the wig is now perfect for Daae, not at all for Mina! I may see if Arda has a nice wig to style in to a Mina wig. Yep. I want to wear that frock as well!

Ruffle!

I think I may have the perfect amount sans the melted section… Will pin to the overskirt tonight and grab some piccies. I never want to see any more ribbon again.
Hannibal/Elissa gown hem.. Still needs hemming proper and the lattice ribbon work over the top half.

Workable lj-archive!! i can search my lj again!

Link provided soon, as this is going over several social networks I don’t want to overload the poor guys site! but woooooooo!!!! It’s been years since I was able to back up my lj and now I have. Soooooo gooood. There is the possibility now of importing all those old posts over to here (my website, not the social media 😉 ) and so having all that costuming history work in one place. Sooooo goood. Speaking of which I need to back up this blog again. I do regularly, but WP seems more stable lately. Also the new hosts seem to update on their side so there is relatively little disruption if there is a clash of server side stuffs.

Squee!!! All those projects not started… but I can search so easily now!!!

Oh man, yeah. The Elissa gown has a very long history!!!!!

Cold snap

It’s a lot colder today and I’m tired from my walk yesterday so I’m a fluffy pink bathrobed Jedi today trying to keep warm. So far I have two widths of pleated Hannibal/Elissa gown skirt ironed. Melted some of the ribbon… no. Do not ask about it except I am hoping I don’t need that section. Ironing makes my hands sad so I may see if i can clean my airbrush and mist my Nyreen mask for a bit. Also I may talc the pieces still in the mold to see if I can do a custom colour/Citadel Turian version.

Sorry South Islanders. I have acclimatised to Auckland weather so this is cold for me. It’s 15C/59F according to a fast search.
