I get asked who I look up to in cosplay… I look up to the professionals in fashion and costume as they use techniques and artforms that are getting so lost. And dear sweet heaven I want to see the insides of all of Mugler’s work because it is full of amazing materials in wonderful ways with no outer clue as to the inner.
Don’t make me reblog the Dior video as proof. You know I will.
I may love Chimera beyond any sane reasoning but this is within my reach.
I would love to only a few things stand in my way:
1) I get recognised by other cosplay staff and am assumed to be spying (nope just needing to go to a con where I don’t work all year fielding emails and then spend a day of my show as the face of the official cosplay stuff and the finally locked in a room judging for a whole day.
2) Never asked to an Aussie con as a guest, possibly due to various loyalties to different events. (I have to a US con- for real-so that is something to think about)
3) I’m not hot so there is no fan base (just people who really love what I do and I can teach well in person- admirers don’t make for hundreds of thousands of facebook likes and that’s what the currency is for fame which equals offers)
4) I has no monies to get there and have accommodation or easy transport.
5) My health suffers more than can be understood at all so at least some of the above need to be in place for the risk of winding up in hospital to be worth it 🙂
Still on course for MelbGeddon unless things go awry.
And I did love my time as Samara at SydNova in 2010 🙂 So I would very much like to get over again 🙂
I’m really sorry the cosplay community here has acted like that :/ I hope that it improves in the future. I saw you in the competition at Sydnova back in 2010 and found your online stuff years later…apparently I was quite lucky to spot you in Aus!

There are some nasty issues I have to face but not of the above 🙂 I don’t begrudge fame I just may get annoyed as it being the only value we are judged by. It’s why I write at my site and spread across social media- save people joining media they not like but it’s generated on my own space by my own rules 🙂

I managed to finish the row of trim on my Galerilla. There is just enough left to do one more row and one more row on my skirt. But then only about 1.5m of the wider five strand trim.
So I just ordered the last two lots (5.4m) of the narrower.

Some Amazing Intricate Pokemon Bead Art by AgentDoppelnuller
Aiee! I used to do bead art like this (seed beads and needle woven wire) but these are just so so so adorable!
Also inspiring me to finish my 16thC beaded flowers for a Masque costume 🙂 Same techniques but flat so each leaf and petale as made separately and the wires twisted to for stems.
So adorable!!!
