Inspiration: Harper’s Bazar fashion plates.

I knew I wanted some sportswear but I wasn’t absolutely sure what I wanted. Initially I intended to make a full length skirt to make a walking ensemble, but I ran out of wool.

So a short skirt over bloomers with a wrap over tailored bodice is what I wound up with.

The lining is entirely linen and partially put in by hand. It is based on a standard double dart basque.

The sleeves are only slightly peaked at the head to indicate the c1890s inspiration.
