I bruise easily so usually ignore them but oh my. It’s the tops of my tibia, much worse on my left. I tend to sit on the floor and tend to get up on my left.

#absjuice is just abs dissolved in acetone. Styrene does (or did for me) a weird thing where it makes a goo that can be manipulated. This is quite syrupy. Any less though and it is not able to be painted. Load a filbert with loads of goop so that you don’t drag previous layers out of place with the brush.

This feels a lot like working with a gel coat, or otherwise thick epoxy resin coat. It’s just an evaporative set up. #Absjuice. I am not too concerned right now with super smoothness as this can be sanded. But a set of horns will take maybe 200gm all up.
I’m still getting myself sorted to get them digitally made but I am a very tactile person so I want a set that is a direct result of hands on material manipulating.
It’s just that muscle memory thing. I was getting muscle memory in Sketchup but it’s still much lighter compared to what I know through my hands on clay.
Anyway. It will potentially be a big mess so I’m just slowly gathering materials π
But if it works I should be able to also then do a range of horn shapes the same way π
And todayΒ I’m meeting up with another friend to go look at the stuff in Barnes (totally getting the very last supplies I can invest in Ahsoka. Due to the weather fluctuations (hot, cold, wet, more wet) curing conditions are not maintainable unless I set my fan heater up (warm on cold and wet days, just fanΒ on a day like right now. But today could easily turn very wet.
So we went and I now have latex, ABS filament, and acetone. There shall be some mixing happening tonight and then laying up tomorrow!

Latex from #barnes, abs filament from Jaycar, and acetone from Mitre10. Dremel used to chop abs into short easily dissolved pieces. I’ve done this with plain styrene but this is a little different. Also the 3mm abs is the same size as for the 3doodler, now to try and straighten the filament to work with it !

On way to #chromacon2017 and funnily enough getting a few weird looks. Miss Verity Pride however has not been on an outing in a while!

I HAVE A @3doodler !!!!!! Got familiar with the speed so I have a few sticks to test with but this is fun! You need a surface for it to stick to to start- think usual process for a 3d printer and it smells like melting plastic because it is π but yay!!! Definitely will be worth the investment π

Art and artifice.. Well all artifice but of hand sculpting meets digital rendering. I will need to use my full subscription to get the best so I’ll be a bit busy for the next few weeks!
