SO SO SO SO SO SO is it really apparent yet how IN LOVE I am with the Hamburg Countess costume? It’s so unlike adaptation we’ve ever see before. It was really striking to me because of the design for the skirt has that “zig zag” decoration that seems ubiquitous to all those 18th century styled gowns.

THIS IS JUST SO INTERESTING TO ME.

This is where I throw in a disclaimer that I have no knowledge of what’s historically accurate, etc. so let’s not make it a whole thing, that’s not the point of the post.

Welcome to the dark side, Darcy!

I love Colby’s gown. It has been the inspiration behind my own gatherings of fabrics- shades from pink to blue to white.

So…

Room is ready to get a nice back drop of some sort in place. Even if I have to sacrifice some of my exciting PVC pipe set aside for making bag ass gun props. But I also have a wall of card from pale blue through to indigo for getting photos in the…

Heres all the WIP pictures together in hopes that they help show the process for people!

Materials used are listed as captions!!!!!!! QUQ Paper mache technique for #3 is HERE

My cosplay/costume blog shared with my 2 cousins is HERE

Thanks for all the kind words friends!

Awesome! this is why you can’t dismiss a technique based on prior experience. I really wanted to touch on papier mache for my Lost Technique panel but if it is a product used for decorating palaces of the super wealthy then it’s definitely a material to look at again 😉

Now after that (I didn’t want to hijack anyone’s reblogs just to make a point)

I am dusty and sore but I can see somewhat of the light at the end of the clean out the projects project. And getting my room ready for getting a nice backdrop for photos (it has to go against the back wall so I can set my camera up far enough away to avoid distortion. I have a nice huge tripod from Savemart and have decided how to set up the back drop and what to have it made from.

Please stop putting cosplayers down

By saying OMG noone else ever do this costume, this is the best!

Do you realise that words in public are … in public? Do you know how many people you just put off ever even thinking about attempting that costume and how small you actually make others feel.

Do you also realise you are reenforcing negative sterotypes that say we are all competitive by saying there can be only one?

Tell someone they rock hardcore absolutely but stop putting down others in the process.

Edit: and yes I have told people off for using the same but more subdued “compliment” for me. It’s not flattering it really isn’t.

It's a day, and it's a pretty one:)

So glad. Today I wanted to get my last blood test (which I shouldn’t need as I doubt I have been exposed to TB in the last two years and if I did I’d probably show signs given I get sick from my own mocrobiome.

So, while I do indeed have some…
