Inspiration: woodcuts by HS Beham

I was having a lot of fun creating my site The Frazzled Frau and exploring artists other than Cranach and started to develop an interest in the Bavarian region, mostly Augsburg but also of many of the printed works by HS Beham.

I made my baret from three layers of wool, all the same size. Two formed the brim and one was pleated into a crown.

The dress itself was an exploration of how far I could push my original toile for my kampfrau dress and an exploration of restriction of fabric. At the time this was mostly a test pattern but it is a style I very much want to make again at some point.
