Lex and I at Armageddon Melbourne. Gorgeous costume of his, really beautful workmanship and aesthetics.
Oh yeah and I’m dressed as Shae Vizla 😉
Thank you Kristy for the photo 🙂

Not all the stripes are mine! Now this really makes me want to try for a very stripey pattern next time… I want a real jungle type shoot where the markings really make so much sense 🙂
I always thought Shaak Ti reminded me of a kind of predatory herbivore 😉 The red is very clearly a natural colouration for “Beware, danger” while her stripes allow blending into long grasses but the horns remind me of antelope.

The tentacles.. well okay then I think of an octopus, but mainly because on our own planet they tend to belong in the sea. And they are dextrous.
Prehensile tails then? Tiger tails.
I have mentioned the moth butt in my livejournal. The rear lekku in shape is very much that of a butterfly or moth. It’s one of the reasons I really love her over the other aliens in the saga, there are so many visual references.
I had a few tumblr/blogs talk about Leia and women who costume as her in this outfit. Needless to say I had a very definite view point 😉 These two photos illustrate exactly how I remember Leia from the movie.(And how much do I love the Barge sail background so this is definitely post self rescue).
Yes I am old enough to have seen the film at the cinema when it first screened. As a girl under the age of ten I just saw a princess in a pretty outfit kicking major ass (though my terminology at the time was different). It wasn’t until the Friends episode many many years later I realised there was another interpretation (of a different gender of a different age group- I think people tend to forget that this is far from the only group this costume appeals to).
Another great one 🙂 This time showing more of the tunic.
I need to dye my hair that colour again…
I adore this photo by Sylvie. Daala with her hair up so really a generic Admiral with red hair.. yeah…
Good use of my “snooty” look I mentioned in the post about the SCA article 😉
I have very few favourite photos of me in costume, but most of them have been by Sylvie.
The costume itself is all fibreglass and plain epoxy resin. I gave myself an allergy making this which got worse in making my Samara (Mass Effect 2) armour and now working on Shae Vizla.
I also essentially made two full sets of the bikini- one petite and one average sized. Ahh the learning stages of a new skill set.
This was taken with Sylvie’s zholga which she was very lucky to have not gone missing as I covet one so.
