on the actual panniers

I fitted the panniers yesterday and today tested the boning in the channels as well as sewed the bottom side of each channel. So I think the two rows and hip handles are going to be enough. It's pretty heavy but the boning is all steel so will hold up 🙂 Now I just need to get my wire cutters and trim the boning down to size.
Going to also buy some more cotton tape tomorrow as I need to make proper ties on the inside so the whole thing is collapsable. Though I do store my 18thC ones in a flat oval… I just like the idea of being able to pack them like I did for D*C

And yes, I am already thinking of this as historic Glinda. I may or may not be tempted to overdye this all pale blue. Except I'd need to remove the lace first. But it is possible. Just probably not before this coming weekend. Though…. tempting… in fact super mega tempting……..
