Learning 3D!

I am so not ready for Blender, it is not intuitive and I can’t even find basic folders, anyway, SketchUp! So far I’ve been learning how to extrude shapes so I’m attempting to make a hollow lightsaber hilt for my Asajj. Yes I’ve been heatshaping pipe but it’s not perfect and I like to learn multiple techniques anyway.

So, this took far too long to learn:

But I managed to work out why my “follow path” lead to flattening of my rectangle and I know I have a lot more to go but now I know what I need to do to make the “follow path” thingie work. And that’s to make my arc smoother and to make a defined end and all sorts of things. But I have a squared off cylinder thing!

And as I suspected, knew, it is a lot of work to create models! I always balanced that when judging because a pattern is a pattern whatever the material. It’s a way to avoid steps of work that are indeed tricky.

Anyway, I have now sat at my desk for so long I want to go for a very long walk.
