6. Your favourite costume (that you have done)

Seriously tough.

But the one I am singularly most proud of would have to be my wool Cleves dress. It is as historically accurate as I could do it. The blue wool is a good weave and colour for the time and place. The silk it is lined with is a good lining grade. The pattern is based on all the information available publicly as well as by some fairly strong reasoning based on multiple sources (written as well as more than one form of artwork.)

Let's put it like this, I could collate the research I put in to that thing and publish it at a graduate level. But I still haven't because I have no rights to the artwork I used and I am not sure if I ever will. But it may be worthwhile given publications out there since.

Basically I worked out the engineering as well as evolution of a style that has been badly represented in Enhlish costume history because of silly theories about the famous Anne of Cleves portrait by Holbein.

Anyway, that one hits the theory and craft buttons for me 🙂 The only issues I have are I mixed the headdress styles around for an earlier more flattering look (but that is still within the realms of choosing personal variation on a theme. Let's not talk about the wider social stuff I learnt while figuring it out! But the linen one is based on several different possibilities seen in the portraits and Trachtenbuch as well as figuring out the evolution of the things (hint, not the same at all as the brodade and pearled ones. At all. Like no overlap except the silhouette.)

And my stripey Braunchweig gown. Super pretty and again worked out from some deep searching of images that show what is hidden in the inspiration portrait.

As for cosplay… I've already whittled my work down so I'm not going to be afraid of listing heaps: Mina, Shae, FemShep, Turian, Hannibal (and Elissa- the skirt looks like the real deal hanging up inside out XD).
