How to deal with the chronically ill-

Okay, a bit more detail.

Please don’t ever say “I know you can’t-” to someone who has a disability/chronic illness.

Yes, there is a cost with any social activity. There is. And I know it’s not just mine to pay. But given my cost is more than annoyance and inconvenience I do careful inventory and cost assessment. I’d like to do those calculations and find I still have the option before being told that it is not worth it.

Over time this starts to read as You Are Not Worth it.

When it comes from multiple sources I start to believe I’m Not Worth It.

Just ask. Don’t assume.
