A few things I did before going to NASDA and had my soul crushed.. only sort of kidding 😉
Not sure what happened but apparently I was going to have a more major role but I wound up playing Lord Snoozle for Puss in Boots. I suspect at the time my father did not pass on the message… Sigh. I got to wear a lovely selection of costumes as a rondom villager as well 🙂 A blue francaise was my favourite. Even if it velcroed up the front.
For Friends of Opera I was a bridesmaid and had fun. My petticoat made for that particular costume lives on as the can can petticoat on my tutorials site and was last worn under Strawberry Shortcake.
It was at the NZ National Singing school I was proven to be a soprano. I also had a class with the late great Beatrice Webster. She would have been possibly my coach when I returned from NASDA but I had Davvid Griffiths instead and it may well have been the better choice. I learn better with a male coach as I don’t try to mimic but listen to what my own voice can do.
I miss my singing lessons.
And Anthea Moller was the first to spot my freaky ribcage. I have a very long and round ribcage which makes for interesting muscle play. A pain for costume as my ribs end barely an inch above my hips. It makes corsets really interesting to try and fit.
