supplies hunting

After my workshop today i went spending 🙂 yay 🙂 Well sort of 😉

I first of all bought some Solidot.. soliddot.. iron on interfacing at Spotlight. Really it’s to make my fabric drape better and the stuff is great. oh yes. This is the back my….. Sunburst skirt:) Yes, my Worth gown a la the Met and KCI gowns 🙂 I have just enough to do the entire skirt, not the train, so it means I shall have a lovely full trumpet shaped skirt after all and a nice smooth ground to do the embroidery and cut work on 🙂

Then I trotted further along to Geoff’s Emporium and hunted out some really stiff net for my Padme fireside skirt. Mixed in with the soft fluffy stuff I have this will give the proper kick to the hem.

I also found some 3″ wide gold bobbin lace (machine) but it has a nice geometric repeating pattern in there so it’s going to be wonderful for my Ropa y Saya after Isabella Clara c1600. It will blend in nicely with the inch or so wide lace I already have 🙂
Also another 7m of the lovely silver ribbon. It’s a warm silver rather than the usual cold silver which also blends with the other ribbons and the lattice braid I have. I haven’t posted those photos yet.. tomorrow perhaps.

And…. I’m sure there was something else….. I have started ironing the interfacing to the Worth skirt and have scanned my pattern so I can scale it up and smooth it out before transferring to the skirt proper. I think I’ll use the sewing machine to do the initial outlines to help keep it all stable and then bead over that. I think I shall use my glass pearls for this baby after all 🙂
